The Appalachian Artisans
Guild was formed in 1995.
Today it is made up of twenty
seven artists and artisans
who possess a variety of
skills. Their main goal is to
preserve the traditional art
forms of the Appalachians,
while  promoting the
contemporary work of their
members. They  reside in
Adams, Brown, Highland,
Pike, and Scioto Counties in
Ohio, with one member living
in Kentucky. Members are
active year round,
participating in shows and
festivals in several states, as
well as attending and
presenting workshops in
their fields of expertise.

*Brenda Armstrong*
Brenda Armstrong has always
had a love for old things. Her
interest in vintage clothing
brought her to creating
bandboxes, hand-cut and
hand-sewn in the traditional
way, covered with vintage
wallpapers and lined with old
damaged periodicals to
recreate an historical piece.
Brenda also designs unique
jewelry by using up the
scraps of the wallpaper. Her
distinctive jointed teddy
bears are made by recycling
old coats. Most of them are
dressed in vintage clothing.
Items made by "Faded
Memories" are pieces of the
past  preserved for the
future.
