The Appalachian Artisans Guild was formed in 1995. Today it is made up of twenty seven artists and artisans who possess a variety of skills. Their main goal is to preserve the traditional art forms of the Appalachians, while promoting the contemporary work of their members. They reside in Adams, Brown, Highland, Pike, and Scioto Counties in Ohio, with one member living in Kentucky. Members are active year round, participating in shows and festivals in several states, as well as attending and presenting workshops in their fields of expertise. Visit their website at www.appartguild.com Members who will be attending Second Saturday in August: *Pam Anders* Pam Anders is a 5th generation Appalachian, who was bitten by the gourd bug in the '90's and has had a gourd in her hand ever since. She will be displaying a wide variety of decorated hard shell gourds.Visit www.outofthegourdinary.com *Brenda Armstrong* Brenda Armstrong has always had a love for old things. Her interest in vintage clothing brought her to creating bandboxes, hand-cut and hand-sewn in the traditional way, covered with vintage wallpapers and lined with old damaged periodicals to recreate an historical piece. Brenda also designs unique jewelry by using up the scraps of the wallpaper. Her distinctive jointed teddy bears are made by recycling old coats. Most of them are dressed in vintage clothing. Items made by "Faded Memories" are pieces of the past preserved for the future. *Iveagh Lehmann* *Mountain Mist- Sue Frump and Virginia Spillman* Mountain Mist is a musical duo who entertain throughout Southern Ohio. Both Virginia Spillman and Sue Frump play a variety of instruments which includes but is not limited to mountain dulcimer, hammered dulcimer, banjimer, mandolin, psaltery, auto harp, and the folk harp. Their repertoire includes a variety of music genres such as folk, country, Celtic, gospel, blues, polka, classical, traditional, jazz, Civil-war era, and Christmas. www.mountainmist-music.com *Martha Padgett* Martha Eichenlaub Padgett was taught the art known as Hungarian Scratch Eggs by her great-grandmother while still living in Hungary. Her goal is to revive this old traditional art through exhibitions and classes. She has been given the honor of being named a Master Artist of Appalachia by the Ohio Arts Council. *Kris Phipps* Kris Phipps has been a flame thrower for 3 years. She has worked with beads since 1996, and now is making her own. Playing with fire is a passion for her and she loves the color reactions she gets with her glass beads. She will be displaying loose beads, jewelry and peyote work. *Bootsie Robison* Bootsie Robison, of Locust Hill Farm, has been working with fiber for 25 years. She uses wool from her sheep to spin yarn, and make knitted and felted clothing and accessories. www.lhfarm.com *Randy Sanders* Pike County Farm, LLC is a small family business owned and operated by Randy Sanders, specializing in native plants and wood products. His woodland items, including cutting boards, picture frames, small benches and other furniture, are primarily made from blow down and dead trees from the farm.
